Moletai is the land of lakes. One of the largest lakes of Moletai region is Bebrusai situated in South East from Moletai. You can reach it going by the road Moletai – Pabradė/ Inturke. It is an excellent place for recreation and fishing.
Bebrusai lake is very fishy and especially liked by fishermen. Ablets, perches, crucians, breams, roaches, pikes, tenches, cods, silvery breams, smelts, catfish and other fish is abundant here.
Fishing has been one of the means of subsistence of Moletai dwellers for ages – this business has been passed down the generations. Rich exposition of fishing equipment is exhibited in Mindunai Fishing Museum situated 9 kilometres from Moletai towards Ignalina.
Eastern banks of Bebrusai lake are rather high (20 – 25 m), western ones – low and flat. Coasts are curved by bays, stony and dry, only the places where the streams flow in are marshy. Area of the lake is 375 ha, average depth – 7.3 m, length – 5 km.
